Extended Thoughts... I wrote this when I was thinking about my oldest daughter, Breanna. I was reflecting on a night when she was doing anything possible to avoid going to bed. After the drink run, bathroom run and about five or so other attempts to avoid the possibility of falling asleep I finally gave her the look, you know the one that sends a chill down your spine and tells you that you are in eminent danger… Well she called my bluff and then showed me some mercy by giving in anyway – not before making sure that I knew who the real master of “the look” was. To this day I can still remember that look, maybe because every now and then she still flashes it at me. Maybe because it is one of those moments that a father can never forget. A moment that gets indelibly burned into a fathers mind and his heart.
