Extended Thoughts I have known for a very long time that I would write this, at least in the sense that I would have a page titled “Braveheart” in my collection of scribblings. I guess that I even pridefully assumed that I would be the subject of it. However, that was before I truly understood William Wallace’s path. He did not anticipate the fight. He did not even look for the fight. Even after the great losses and pain, he did not continue to fight simply to drown out the sorrow. Rather, he simply had an amazingly brave heart. A heart so brave that it could not be overcome by his intellect, by his need for self preservation or by fear. A heart so brave that it could only be overcome by the cries for freedom, mercy and justice that surrounded him. A heart so brave that it would push his body, intellect and will into an un-winnable battle against an un-stoppable opponent for that seemingly un-attainable goal of freedom! Thank you, Cris, for being so brave of heart, strong of character, and full of courage; and thank you for sharing all of this with me.
